Meet The Judges

Gail is a retired family physician from Nova Scotia. She started photographing birds in 2009 and has been obsessed with improving her skills and learning everything about her subjects.
Over the years, she has had several images in Audubon’s Top 100 and several Highly Commended in Bird Photographer of the Year. In 2020, she won the Audubon Contest (amateur) and the Special Encounters Category of Bird Photographer of the Year. She also won the inaugural contest of Kingbirder 2020.
In 2021 she became a judge for WildArt Photographer of the Year, Kingbirder and a judge for Birdlife Australia Contest. She has also judged for many local provincial contests. She was a moderator for BirdPhotographers.net in 2020 and 2021.

Isaac Grant is a lifelong birder and lover of nature. He has traveled all over the world and seen thousands of species of birds. For the last 15 years Isaac has combined his love of birds with his love of photography. Regardless of the weather, the environment, or any other hurdles,
Isaac uses his knowledge and love of birds to capture unique and memorable photos.
He was born and raised in The Bronx and now calls Staten Island, New York his home for the last 20 years with his college sweetheart, 2 teenage boys, his husky mix, and his bird watching father.
Isaac has been recognized for his expertise in birding and bird photography. He leads bird photography workshops around the country and conducts online coaching as well. His passion is to share his knowledge and help fellow bird photographers improve their craft.
